My Story

I started out drawing with graphite, first in high school and again during those long days of lockdown. I found joy capturing fleeting moments in time of my children and pets as they quickly grew and changed. As I gained confidence in my artwork, I wanted to find a way to add color to the memories I was capturing. After dabbling in a few different mediums, I settled, mostly, on pastels. I still find that I dabble in watercolor, acrylic, color pencils and oil, but I always return to creating art with pastels. Starting out by capturing my own family taught me that I love to draw people and animals and I have continued to work on my skills as a portrait artist, often choosing references I feel with challenge me artistically and help me further refine my skills.
